Innovation is the way we continue to develop as a species.
From the days when the wheel was invented, life has been getting a little bit smoother and business a little more effective. That is, if innovation is embraced with open arms.
After all, when everyone started using the wheel, who wanted their job to involve walking everywhere?
Some businesses, afraid to take risks and change their business structure, could be falling behind and turning off their employees, according to research.
Ernst & Young (EY) conducted a survey of 2,000 people across a variety of industries. The study found that 65 per cent of employees thought that their business could be improved with better and more innovative use of current technology.
What's more, they found their company's lack of innovation led to an unproductive work environment.
When employees are not able to work to the best of their ability, stress becomes a negative factor, which can disengage workers and lead to further lulls in productivity, according to Tower Watson research.
The Tower Watson study found that 57 per cent of workers with high stress levels considered themselves disengaged, compared with only 10 per cent of employees with low stress levels.
Overall, EY estimated that the annual wage wastage from poor productivity was worth a massive $109 billion across Australia.
Innovate and save money
It's important to remember that innovation does not have to cost the world; nor is it on some distant horizon. In fact, it's possible to speed up how your business operates right now.
Conferencing services are able to assist and streamline employees' working lives through better, more efficient communication.
By reducing the number of one-on-one calls and email chains, by nullifying travelling times and by improving meeting turn-out, employees can become more productive and less stressed in their business communications.
What's more, it's not an expensive way to innovate.
Low cost conference calls work on a budget-friendly cost structure, especially designed to give small businesses in Australia an advantage.
Innovation is easy, and to prove it, here's a free trial to get your business on the right road.
